Howdy classmates,
Just had lunch with Coach Hollis Shannon at Luigi's. What a great time! We reminisced about those glory days 50+ years ago. Our table was next to a collage of photos including Terry Maddux, Steve Rojas, Bob Ray and ??? Cruz!!! Hollis was s super coach, teacher and mentor! Man, we went over old times yakking about Terry Newman, Bob Boyer (RIP, good buddy), Bob Martini (RIP, good buddy) Joe Sellers, Tom Aguirre, Richard Simmons, Bill Funk, Ruben Elias, Lee Hammett, Jon Wells, Joy Stewart, Terry Maddux, Socorro Pena, Charlie Gillenwater, Kip Campbell, Migs Apsit, Bob Aston, Harry Wetzler,Don Prewett, Margaret Sprague, Walter Shore, Paul Sunderland etc. etc. What a privilege to have Hollis as a mentor and friend!!! And what a unique and special class we were---and are!!! Go Blades '63!!! PS---Thanks for all, Hollis---you made a difference!!! PS---I'll post pics tomorrow.
